Pasricha & Patel, LLC hosts seminar on “Immigration and Your Rights” at the World Gujarati Conference 2008 in Edison, New Jersey.
The World Gujarati Conference 2008 is an initiative taken up by AIANA (Association of Indian Americans in North America) to provide a platform for Gujarati people from all over the world to come together to network and discuss key issues related to business, education, cultural, social, health, spiritual and entertainment, affecting the population and also provide opportunities for personal and communal growth.
Highlights of the seminar
Our firm's participation in this event was geared towards providing information regarding the various immigration options available to individuals seeking to visit, live, work or study in the U.S. The seminar was presented by firm partners, Gary S. Pasricha and Sheetal A. Patel. The seminar was followed by a Q & A session geared towards answering immigration law questions posed by conference attendees.

The Capacity Building Institute is a training seminar for emerging non-profit domestic violence organizations throughout the country. The seminar was hosted by Manavi, a New Jersey based organization.
Highlights of the seminar
Sheetal Patel was a member of the Legal Clinic Workshop during the event and provided the audience an overview of immigration and family law issues that may arise during representation of a South Asian woman subjected to domestic violence.
Firm Partner Ms. Sheetal Patel provides helping hand to battered women and children by serving on the board of directors of Manavi
Manavi is a New Jersey based women's rights organization that works to end all forms of violence against South Asian women living in the U.S. "South Asian" women are those who identify themselves as being from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka. Some of Manavi's services include legal clinics, support groups, court and accompaniment, and a transitional home. Sheetal Patel has served as a board member of Manavi since 2006.
